What you can investigate

Questions this connection can actually support.

  • Search performance

See whether organic demand changed, or whether the site became less visible for demand that was still there.

  • Queries and pages

Find the queries and pages that gained or lost clicks, including image, video, news, and Discover when the question is not about web search.

  • Search opportunities

Find queries that earn impressions but few clicks, and queries sitting close to a stronger position.

  • A more specific cut

Narrow a question to a query, a page, a country, or a device when the sitewide numbers are too broad.

Illustrative answer

Why did organic clicks fall last week?

  1. 01 Evidence

Clicks fell from 1,220 to 980. Impressions held. Average position moved from 8.4 to 11.1. Twelve queries accounted for most of the click loss.

  2. 02 Context

The team keeps a list of branded queries. Filtered to that list, branded clicks were steady in the same window.

  3. 03 Reading

The click loss sits outside that branded list. Impressions held, so measured demand did not disappear. The weaker average position is a lead. It does not, by itself, show why each of those twelve queries moved.

Sample figures, not a customer result.

  • Which queries lost clicks over the last 28 days?
  • Where are impressions high and click-through rate weak?
  • Which pages gained impressions without a matching rise in clicks?
  • Did the change sit on mobile, or in one country?
  • Which queries are in striking distance of a stronger position?

How the integration works

Connect the account, then ask from a compatible client.

  1. 01

Connect Search Console in Lytically and authorize read-only Search Console access, plus the identity scopes used to recognize the Google account.

  2. 02

Lytically lists the sites on that account. Choose the ones to investigate. Unverified sites are refused. If more than one site is selected, name the site in the question.

  3. 03

The selected sites make the Search Console tools available through MCP. The client receives the query results, not the Google grant.

  4. 04

Reports use the Pacific calendar and end yesterday, which is how Search Console dates its data.

The same tools are available to a Routine, which repeats an investigation on a schedule you set.

Available analytical capabilities

What the tools cover, and what they leave out.

Sites

Selected Search Console properties. A site the Google account has not verified cannot be queried.

Operations

List selected sites, search performance, top queries, top pages, search opportunities, and an allowlisted query.

Measures and splits

Clicks, impressions, click-through rate, and average position. Dimensions are query, page, country, device, date, and search appearance. Search appearance is used on its own.

Opportunities

Low click-through rate, or striking distance. The scan reads the top rows sorted by clicks, up to 1,000, and returns at most 50. You can set the impression floor, the click-through ceiling, and the position band. The default focus is low click-through rate, grouped by query.

Freshness

The same presets as the other Google tools, on the America/Los_Angeles calendar, ending yesterday in that timezone. Lytically does not add a second delay on top of that calendar.

Access

Google OAuth with openid, email, and the read-only Search Console scope. That scope cannot change the property. Tools run for the Lytically account on the MCP connection, and only for sites selected there. The grant is not sent to the AI client. The flexible query defaults to 50 rows and caps at 250.

Better together

More useful next to another connected source.

Search Console shows demand and visibility. It does not show what those visitors did on the site, or whether a contact was created. Those questions use another tool, called separately.

  • Google Analytics

Organic clicks increased, but sessions on the landing pages did not. Search performance and Analytics traffic sources can be read for the same dates. They still describe different events.

  • HubSpot

Organic clicks increased, but new contacts did not. Search Console shows the queries. HubSpot shows contacts created in the period. Lytically does not match a click to a person.

Questions

Before you connect Google Search Console.

Can I use this integration with ChatGPT or Claude?

Yes. Once a verified site is selected, the Search Console tools are available on Lytically’s MCP connection. The assistant can ask about performance, queries, pages, and opportunities.

Does Lytically store my Search Console data?

Lytically stores the encrypted Google grant and the sites you select. Search results are read from Search Console when a tool runs. They are not kept as a separate copy of the property. A Routine can keep the written report from a run, and that report may include figures from the investigation.

What permissions does Lytically require?

Read-only Search Console access, plus openid and email. If a required scope is missing, the connection is not treated as authorized.

Can I connect multiple sites?

Yes. Select each site the investigation should use. Unverified sites are left out. With more than one site selected, the question needs the site URL.

How current is the data?

Reports run through yesterday in Pacific time. Search Console can itself be behind. Lytically follows that calendar rather than inventing a fresher date.

Can I combine this data with other integrations?

Yes, as separate evidence. Analytics can describe on-site behavior for the same dates. HubSpot can describe contacts and deals. Neither call turns a query into a closed deal.
